Your own whiskey – here’s how it’s done

Hällsnäs whisky school is a permanent event at Hällsnäs. Here, whisky lovers can learn about the entire cask journey, from start to finish, with Håkan Jortby, who is responsible for Mackmyra’s whisky warehouse at Hällsnäs.

FILLING YOUR CASK

Once you’ve made your choices it’s time to fill your cask. You’re welcome to join us if you want! It’s an experience we highly recommend.

THE NAME OF YOUR CASK

Once your cask is filled you can attach a brass plate to it with the name of your cask. If you can’t attend we’ll be happy to do it for you.

SAMPLE YOUR CASK

Now you’re presented with the opportunity to sample and evaluate your whisky. We recommend trying it once a year to be able to follow the process and decide for yourself when it’s ready to bottle.

BOTTLING

Are you happy with the flavour? Great! Book your cask in for bottling and you’ll soon have your own bottles of single cask. You can collect them from your chosen collection point. Now you can finally enjoy your own unique whisky.
